I'll be going through a bit of the history as I do the story, so you don't have to read The Witching Hour to follow along(though I do recommend it just because it's a great book!). There are a few different rules that I've set up for myself along the way. First, the Mayfair legacy is a matriarchal legacy. In the story, only a daughter can be the designee of the legacy. That will be the same here. In order to make things easier/more fun, I'll only be controlling the legacy witches. Sort of like the ISBI challenge, but I'll have up to 3 torch holders, depending on the aging. Also, one of the most important characters in the story is Lasher, who up until the very end, is a ghost. So I've made Lasher into a ghost, and he'll follow each designee witch as she goes along. I don't control him, so he does what he wishes. In the book, he is tied to the current designee, so in my game, if my current designee wishes to go anywhere, other than work, Lasher will have to accompany her. For the purposes of my game, the designee will only become active upon aging to young adult. Before that, she can interact with Lasher, but she doesn't have to bring him with her.
Lastly, I want to warn everyone. There are dark mythologies and some rather risqué topics involved in this story. This is Anne Rice we're talking about. She deals with death, incest, witchcraft, among other things. I'll try to keep my version as clean as I can(not hard to do with the game), but if any of that offends you, please don't read!!
